1. Scope

This Privacy Statement applies to information we collect through the Service, including when you request a login code, create or manage a pool, enter a team, receive emails from us, or browse pages that use cookies or local browser storage.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly and information generated through your use of the Service.

Account and Contact Data

This includes your email address and, where applicable, your account creation and sign-in activity. The Service uses email-based authentication and may provision an account for your email when you begin the sign-in flow.

Pool and Entry Data

This includes pool names, team names, participant names, selected golfers, scoring settings, tournament selections, approval settings, and related pool configuration.

Communications Data

We store information needed to send transactional emails such as login codes, pool creation confirmations, and team creation confirmations.

Technical and Browser Data

We may collect technical data such as IP address, browser details, session-related information, and activity needed to keep the Service secure and functioning.

3. How We Use Information

  • To authenticate users and send one-time sign-in codes by email.
  • To create, manage, display, and administer pools, entries, and leaderboards.
  • To send service-related emails and confirmations.
  • To maintain security, prevent misuse, enforce our terms, and troubleshoot issues.
  • To improve the operation, reliability, and administration of the Service.

4. Cookies, Sessions, and Local Storage

The Service uses essential browser technologies to function properly. This includes server-side sessions, security-related cookies such as CSRF protection, and other cookies necessary to keep you signed in and complete multi-step flows.

Some pages also use browser storage for convenience features. For example, the leaderboard stores favorite team names in local storage and may use a cookie to remember that you dismissed a pool message banner.

5. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only as reasonably necessary in the following circumstances:

  • With service providers that help us host the Service, send email, process background jobs, or support core infrastructure.
  • When required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, security, or property.
  • As part of a business transaction such as a merger, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets.

6. Public and Shared Information

Pools and leaderboards are designed to display participant-related information. If you create a pool or enter a team, some information such as pool name, team name, standings, scores, picks, or participant display information may be visible to other users with access to that pool or leaderboard.

7. Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain account and pool records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of data and the purpose for which it was collected.

8. Your Choices

You can choose not to provide certain information, but some parts of the Service may not function without it. You can also manage certain browser-level settings by clearing cookies or local storage, though doing so may affect sign-in state, saved preferences, or in-progress flows.

To request access, correction, or deletion of your information where available, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before processing a request.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will review the request.

11. International Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than the one where you live, including where our hosting or service providers operate. Those countries may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction.

12. Changes to This Statement

We may update this Privacy Statement from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised version on this page and update the effective date above. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised statement.
